Founded in 2001, Service Revolution is a consulting services company headed by Anna Runkle, MPP, who has more than 20 years experience in health care management, operations research and customer service. She has earned a reputation for developing simple, effective systems for improving clinic performance and the patient experience, with a focus on customer service, sustainable solutions led by clinic teams, and the use of multimedia to define and teach new processes and behaviors.
In addition to consulting, she is president of Click to Play Media, which produces video, e-learning and multimedia content for the health care, technology, higher education and other industries. Web-based training and communications are often a key component in Anna's consulting work, providing clear and visual means to convey complex ideas and to demonstrate new processes and behaviors. She is the producer of the best practices website www.smartclinics.org, which provides free training videos and downloadable toolboxes for community clinics nationwide. She is also the founder and director of P2P Kenya, a person-to-person philanthropy program that connects individual donors with children in Kenya who have been displaced by ethnic violence, HIV and poverty, providing tuition and safe living places.
A consultant and entrepreneur since 2001, Anna past accomplishments include:
- leading an initiative to improve clinic performance in Planned Parenthood's 800+ clinics nationwide, including the development of simple metrics and systems of data collection, leadership of a clinic manager development program, fundraising and production of multimedia training materials use to standardize staff education and behavior
- leading product development and private fundraising efforts for the dental application iConfiDent;
- product management of data products from the oncology EMR iKnowmed,
- heading up the marketing department of what is now Summit Medical Center in Oakland, CA
Anna is also the author of numerous articles and a book on the subject of reproductive health care and health policy. She earned her BA in Broadcast Communication Arts from San Francisco State University, and a Master of Public Policy Degree from the Goldman School at UC Berkeley.
